I have an 05 with 50k miles and when it is cold and not plugged in the motor makes either a knock or a heavy ticking sound would be the best way to describe it. Once the motor runs for a little bit the noise becomes very faint.
If the truck is plugged in it will very rarely make the sound.
Has any body ever heard of this before?
I don't have any tuners or upgrades.
The dealer that I took it too said that they couldn't hear it, but you have to be deaf not to hear it.
Thanks!
By cold I mean 20 degree's or colder. If I know I am going to need the truck I will plug it in but there have been some times when that has not been availible. If I go somewhere and the truck sits for a few hours in the cold when I go to start it the noise will be back.
I have read about a cold start re flash do you think that is something I should maybe look into?
Thanks for your input.
