Tranny Pan volume

Anybody know off the top of their head how much fluid the stock tranny pan holds? I think 8, but looking for confirmation. Thanks maxx

That's about right. It depends on how much drains out of the torque converter, and that varies from trans to trans.

I just did the drain and filter change today on my 96. I drained out the torque converter too, and all told, put back in 15 qts. Still haven't got it to a good hot temperature to measure it properly, but comparing to what came out, think i'm pretty close. I'd say more fluid came from the converter, but it was hard to estimate exactly.
