pressure will tell you if you have possible head gaskets or egr cooler or failed cap. flow may tell you why you have a problem. then you would go back to the pyro and check the system for cold spot for a lack of flow. if one spot is colder the the other theres the reason if all is the same temp suspect pump.
to upgrade to a 05 water pump you would need a pump, front cover, and a lower radiator hose. still the same type of pump but for some reason they have less issues.
10 hours labor and like a 600.00 part. per the repair procedure you should remove the intake to replace the cover. it can be done other ways but thats another story.
it is what it is , have not heard back from the dealer so I don't know for sure ,
what I do know is that I'm driving around with an 03 waterpump timebomb
so what was the outcome. Heres what I am dealing with. I was told by a dealer that my hgs are blown. The only problem I am having with the truck is the fan clutch is kicking on and off for no reason. At highway speeds the temp gauge goes fairly high then comes back down. No loss of power, no puking, no coolant loss and no white smoke or any smoke from the tailpipe. I changed the fan clutch thinking it was bad like it has before. I replaced the ect sensor. It did not help. I replaced the oil cooler and did the egr delete myself about 20K miles ago. Been running good. Just about had with the old beech. Anyone have any suggestions? How about a good independent mechanic in Dallas?
i would check the bottom radiator hose to see if it is collapsing. sucking together. the faster the engine turns the more it will suck together. it's like the thermostat being closed. the water will not circulate. so it will run hot .thanks ronnie
