Am I idiot, or do these trucks just don't have one?
Every cell in my brain is telling me my truck ('92 F-250 IDI truck), has a CEL light. But I've searched on the forums and looked all over the dash and I really havn't seen one.
The truck runs great, but please help me out here so I stop racking my brain over this.. A picture showing where it's at would be the best thing, if in fact it has one.
If I understand it right the light comes on at 242 degrees so I have never seen it come on in any of mine as they have never been that hot. For the oil pressure to turn it on it would have to be under 7 pounds, so I hope mine never comes on for that reason either.
i have and 89 IDI...no computer to control an cel, Only a TCC on my e40d that works through the od cancel button on the dash by the ignition...not sure how to get codes from it.
Only vehicle I have that uses a true "check engine" light is my 96' saturn. It's probably wondering where the engine is
My F150 has an "emissions" light that was probably never connected and the diesel has an auxiliary temperature light thats fed by a separate sensor on the engine.
Thanks guy, helped a lot and now I can rest on that issue lol.
I didn't know the truck didn't have a ECU. I guess it really is all mechanical (not like thats a bad thing lol).
Now onto the next issue. The OD light flickering. Trans shifts perfect, and the light DOES NOT blink under normal driving. Only blinks/flickers when I actually push the button, the truck will shift out of OD and go into 3rd but the light kinda just flickers at me without touching it. I've read that the wiring gets rubbed though inside the column. I'll be looking at that when I get a chance.
