Ok I was looking at a mack I have, and probably going to part out.
It has a pyro, 2 rearend temp guages, tranny temp, plus water and oil, air etc. These guages are matching and all have the mack logo. I'm thinking about using them in my crew project, what do you all think about the mac logos in a ford. I guess I could put the dogs on the sides and the hood too. lol
I'm sure the guages are good quality, I'm just not sure about the mac logos. lol I could build a custom dash and use the mack speedo to but the tach is mechanical, and finding one that will match the speedo.
If you could figure out a way to make them work, even just a few of them, I think it would still be unique. I associate Mack with heavy duty, tough, American made quality.
I think they would be pretty cool. I'm doing something similar. I'm a big John Deere fan. Working on getting a set of JD guages only problem is I've never seen a JD pyro. I've got a set of KW guages, I may end up using them.
These are all old school guages, makeing everything but the tach work will be easy enough. I have all the sending units and the speedo is probably a three inch it will fit nice.
thats the fun part of customizing rather than buying new.
you get to customize.for sure i say go for it.
everyone and their brother has stock.different is good.already having the parts is better
we already have International Harvester engines.whats a few MAC gauges gunna hurt....nuppin.
Looked the guages over in the old mack yesterday and the only thing with the mack logo is the pyro also marked isspro the rest match but just have the sw logo on them.
I also checked my other mack cab and it has the pyro too but no leads or probe.
And the tach goes to 3500 which would be enough if it wasn't mechanical. The speedo only goes to 85, so I will try to incorporate the guages and use the stock 100 mph speedo.
