The head lights on my 2000 F350 seem really dim compared to my wifes 2007 chevy. What is the best thing to make them brighter, that doesent cost a lot of money? Thanks for any help.
My 2000 is the same. Ive tried to polish them, not much luck with that (tween beers and rubbing!) Think what im gonna do is get a new set off of ebay. I think that for a few years ford used a "fogged" lense. I dont like it, my dad put a set of 03's in his 99, they look nice and work way better.
a lot of the 2000 and plus vehicles I find do that. Drives me nuts. Old trucks with a good alternator, do in fact have good headlights if you ask me. If they are not bright like I need them to get through winter storms, and find deer eyes, then I simply add a decently priced pair of aftermarket lights.
My 2000 looked like someone had painted them white. Afraid to drive at night. All the auto part stores now sell a polishing kit that works pretty good. Too bad a new set is so expensive.
My headlights are so bad i dont drive at night unless I have too.
They arent foggy they are crappy.
I tryed new white bulbs and that did nothing.
I put on some driving lights which cured things on high beam , but I still cant see when Im in traffic on low beam.
Its dangerous and I havnt found a fix yet?
A pretty good relatively cheap option are to replace the bulbs with a phillips crystal vision ultra bulb......AWESOME bulbs for a stock style bulb....should run you about 40 bucks for a set of bulbs...I had a set of these and Loved them.... By the way...they're hard to find locally so i got mine from bulbs.com
An even better option would be an HID kit....which will run you about 160 bucks for a great set from retro-solutions.com I now have lights that i don't mind driving through the back roads at night in deer infested woods....forget all the bs about them blinding drivers and such.....aim them right and you'll have 0 problems....
The lenses on my '04 are as clear as new, yet they still are pretty bad. I'm gonna look into aftermarket bulbs very soon, it's cheaper than replacing the front sheetmetal after a deer encounter.
