I know ALOT of guys hate HID's but I sell alot of them so I felt obligated to install a set on my truck (kinda hard to sell something when people notice you dont even use them). I can honestly say that it was the best thing I could have done to be able to see better. I have only had them in about 2 months but in those two months I have only had one other driver flash me because they were blinding him.
Nice bright lights are good, but i still think you should replace the lens assemblys. Let all the light out, dont filter it through old 2000 sand blasted lens's!
While I agree that filthy or pitted lenses hurt light performance, my '04 lenses are like brand-new, yet the light quality at night is actually worse than my '67 Mustang, so I suspect they need help.
Fix it for $5:
Thoroughly rub toothpaste onto the lens with a paper towel.
Rub clean with wet paper towels.
If you can reach the inside of the lens, do the same inside. Fix it for $30:
LMC truck sells a harness that connects the headlights directly to the battery for more power. LMC Truck Parts: Chevy Chevrolet Blazer S10 GMC Jimmy S15 Ford Bronco Ranger Pickup Pick Up Accessories/Catalogs Fix it for $200:
Amazon sells the 05-07 headlight conversion kit (The one on my truck in the picture below). Requires lots of cutting to the header panel and you will have to buy extra screws/clips (lmc has them).
Sorry sand man, for some reason i thought you had the older lenses for some reason or another.

I'm telling you...phillips crystal vision ultras if you're going to do bulbs....save your money on silverstar
i just went to these last weekend. i was coming off some sort of pure white bulb, and it took some getting used to going back to a more yellow color... but they put out much more usable light (and look kinda cool with the tri-color output, especially the high beams).
