i need help with my xbox and its network connection.
short: my xbox is on a static ip and its completely unrestricted from our internet. there are no blocks or firewalls blocking it from the internet. according to all the games i play, i always have a perfect connection. i dont have slow internet and the xbox is connected to the router with cat5 cable. even though it says i have a perfect connection and i know the xbox is open to everything, it still says i have a strict NAT and i cant play with anyone privatley(private chat or party.
i cant enable UPnP or anything like it because we have 4 computers, one if which is a server for my father, who is a network administrator. he cant figure out what the problem is so ive turned to the internet.
You probably need to go into the router and give the x box the permissions it needs. Depending on the which router you have there should be a page with the options. It's normal for the router to have only common ports open for a net connection.
Another great site is portforward.com (I think, it's been a while). It lists countless sets of hardware and software combos, as well as specific directions for almost all commercial routers and gateways, and there's no charge for any of it.
