Transmission Interchange Questions

I found a deal on a manual off another truck. I might be able to get the manual tranny cheap. Does any one know if the tranny will fit a 7.3 off a 6.0? As a personal preference i just want my manual back that i have had in the past.

Not only will it not fit, the PCM is not designed to handle the 6.0 trans.

The bolt pattern on the back of the block on a 6.0L is very different from the one on a 7.3L. Transmissions will not interchange.

All the 7.3 turbo trannies interchange as far as bolt patterns. The blocks were all the same. From what i have read if you go from auto to manual you can use the same pcm. If you go from manual to auto you have to change it. If you switch an old body style and new body style auto trannies you will also have to change pcms. Hopefully some one else will come verify that.

Remember that you will need all the clutch parts too.

Yes, if the donor trans is from a PSD and the '01 250 is a PSD's.
