Transmission
I have a 99 ford f250 LD, great truck with 73,4xx on it, the truck has been used for plowing, towing skid steers, cars, concrete & farm equipment, hauling wood you name it lol its my farm truck
however i live about a block or 2 from the highway and ive noticed that it wont shift into overdrive going down the highway when its cold out, until im like a mile down the road and the fluid rises temp alittle bit. it doesnt try to shift or slipp when it does finally go in. ive also started to notice a little bit of jerking when hitting bumps or like climbing hills, like its hitting a shift point but im not giving it enough gas (the famous 55-60mph shift point YAY lol) or just going down smooth roads i get alittle jerk or slip, its not all the time but it may happen like 2-4 times on an hour trip at 60+
i was considering getting the whole fluid flushed at a ford shop for 130.00 but im not sure that will help, the fluid in there was flushed maybe 2 years ago if not alittle more then that, ive seen for plowing that once a year is a good idea, however i checked my fluid and it still looks almost new lol very light red in color on the stick, im kinda lost as to what 2 do, im very mechanical and can fix just about anything on the truck if its not something major inside, i guess i just dont know where to start, i dont feel like throwing 130 at it for a new flush unless im somewhat sure that might help or that its not a TC problem
i guess im not sure, id like some opinions on what you guys might think it is
thanks Lind
