engine change

has anyone put an older motor in there 99,or newer superduty,ive got a freshly rebuilt 400 m that i would like to put in place of my failing 5.4{second motor,they only last between 60 and 80 thousand miles}will it bolt up to the newer style tranny?is it feasable to do this.

DO WHAT? Try changing the oil every once and a while.

liston,the oil is changed regularly,i plow and work the truck like it was built for,the first 5.4 are not a work horse motor,has blown 2 plugs so far.gets 12 miles to the gallion. my 79 has a 400 built by me. it gets 20 miles to the gallionplowing or cruising.numskull
