I know of a 66 F100 that's solid, disassembled and incomplete.
(originally a V8 3spd 2wd, then 240 4spd, now no motor/trans, has a 70s column for power steering but not finished)
I found a 64 F100 that's rusty, assembled and basically complete.
(I-6 3spd 2wd)
Will the wiring harness, hardware and steering column, be the same?
Ditto on what the others said. I have a 66 and a few parts on it are from a 64. I put the chrome custom cab piece that fits under the dash on it. I had to maybe bend the ends that go under the dash if I remember. I did have a 64 dash before I put in a 66 dash back in. I think the radios were the same.***** I think were the same. I think as far as the wiring goes the ignition switch may be different but I wouldn't swear to it. The plugs that go to the inside of the cab from engine compartment are different I do think as well. My expieriece on 64 and below is mainly from stripping parts off I can use. As far as interchangeability of the 64 and 66 wiring I think you would have to cut and splice a lot . You can download the diagram for the 64 trucks off the old car manual project site. You dan do a search for it, I don't remember the web site address. If you want to to compare it to a 66 do a search for bronco and wiring. I found a bronco wiring diagram and it was almost exactly like my 66. I think the biggest difference in the bronco and one like the 66 is that the lengths of wire are longer. I got tired of all my wiring problems and completely rewired it. I soldered every connection and such. I have not had the first problem since. When I rewired my truck I pulled every piece of wire out and laid it on the floor. I removed all the black tape like stuff and had it stripped down to just color coded wires. I put in a new fuse box I got at my local parts store. I then went to the original fuse box and cut one wire off the fuse box that went to stuff. I then rewired that line. I did each wire at a time. For example I cut the wire that had the heater on it. I then went to my truck and put a wire to the fuse box, heater and anything connected to it. I rewired each circuit by itself. Other year trucks will also fit on the 65-66 trucks. The 67 tailights that have back up lights will fit in the truck as well. I put 67 in mine. I also have heard the 67 and up to a ceartian year that the floor and supports will interchange. For example if your 66 floor and cab are rusted out and you find a perfect 68 you can graft it in. I can't swear to it. As far as parts intechange from what I seen most of the time if the part looks like it will fit it may very well fit.
