check gauges light??

damn, your check gauges light goes out before you fire it up? thats wierd, i dont know what its telling me to check with that light, the only other one lit up is the battery one, but all of them go off after i start the truck. i really dont want to take it to the stealership just to plug it in and tell me, anyone have any ideas? why is it telling me to check gauges when the only one on is the battery one?

When the check gauges light is on, it is telling you it is cycling all of the gauges to the present reading. If the engine is cold your gauges will only move to the present value( mostly only move to the "0" reading ) If the engine is wam it will show the present value, it will move all gauges to show the actual temp, pressure or fuel level. when the engine is started it will show oil pressure at present value all of the other gauges will show the actual value at that moment.
