just bought the truck last week and having a lot of issues. The most recent thing I noticed is when making a tight turn or u turn it feels like I have square wheels. Could this be ball joints or possibly hubs not unlocking. 127,000 miles
I'd think 'hubs not unlocking' before anything else. You can always remove the hubs (one or both) and drive the truck again and determine what you feel. Also, jack up both sides and see if the axle shaft turns with the tire/wheel to see if a hub is locked when it should be unlocked. My '01 felt like 'square wheels' when the hubs were manually locked and it was in 2WD and I did a u-turn. Some u-turn wierdness can be caused by a tight limited slip rear end, although that's more likely to feel like scuffing tires on the rear of the truck.
I hadn't thought about it being a limited slip. My f-250 ld. I just got rid of didn't do that and it was a one wheeler peeler. I bet that's all it is. It's just annoying because the town I live in has no left turns. You have to go to the next light and make a u turn and you have to cut it all the way to make the turn with that long truck. Thanks.
