ok im sure yall have seen this question several times but i recently just purchased a 4 inch suspension lift for my 96 f150 and i know you can put 33's on it but i dont like them yes there wide but not as tall can i put 35's under it with stock wheels
I had 35's on mine when I got it, but with a cut fender and bumper, and no lift, just spacers in the springs. It probably depends on whether you've got offset rims, but with 4 inches of lift, you should be close? I'm not sure, but someone will be along shortly who knows...
On a stock F-150, I think 31x10.50's are the best looking tires. They take up the right amount of wheel well, and have enough width. I actually don't mind 235's though. They looked great on my '87.
i agree they do look good but i have already purchased a 4 inch lift for the truck i just aint seen to many trucks with 4 inch lift with 35's thats why i was wondering if anybody on fte has done it
Yeah they'll clear. I got 35x12.50x18 mud grapplers on my truck with a 4in superlift. my tires rub on the radius arm and the sway bar. If it's 4wd then they'll rub on the leaf springs and sway bar. you can get wheel spacers but then you would have to cut or flare the fenders.
You can fit 35 12.50 on stock rims. If you have a 4 inch lift, I would recommend just keeping the 33 12.50s. Why don't you like them. I think that is the best setup for lift and tires for our trucks.
Also, if you go bigger then you may need to regear the axles.
That's the other thing... 35x12.50's on my truck with 3.55 gears made it a dog. I was often tempted to throw it in low range to get back home coming out of the valley town sits in...
My good buddy had a 95 302 5 speed with a 6 inch lift and 35s with 3.55 and on the highway you couldn't use 5th gear unless you were going 75-80 or it would just bog down and loose speed.
Yeah, I never got to drive my truck(same configuration you're talking about, except no lift) in fifth until I took those tires off. I'm never putting the 35's on, even if I could get cheap gears, because I have new fenders to put on this summer, and I'm not cutting them!
thats what im wanting to do its a little project of mine basically i want it to set up like on the show off your pre 97 truck thread page 77 first truck on that page if yall look at it would that be a 4in lift and 33s i tried to message the guy but he never responded
