Since I have owned my truck, approx 14 years now, I have known nothing else in terms of a truck. I have the 351W engine and I am looking to buy a 351W from a pick your part place (so I have something to play with at least - I may even use it).
My question is about the engine and how to identify it. If I don't see any stickers or documentation that would tell me what model engine it is, what can I use to identify a Windsor against a Cleveland, for example? I am assuming there might be some subtle differences. I can recognize my engine when I see it.
On a side note, at the pick your part place I saw two engines I think are a 351W but in the middle of the block, while looking at the top of the engine I saw what looked like a row of intakes where the intake manifold is usually bolted. On one of the engines those intake openings on the block were rectangular openings while the other block had oval openings. What's the difference other than the obvious?
