Another p0003 code...off with the cab!
Of both the 2008 6.4l that I have the second one finally threw the dreaded code with only 4000 miles left on the warranty! First one went within 4 months of owning. Really pisses me off that Ford didn't turn this into a recall seeing as they know it was the pre 08/07 production dates. So they just figure they will wait until it happens? What if my warranty had expired? Now I have another vehicle down with no production and will probably take them a week to fix.

that code stands for high pressure fuel pump gasket failed from a chafed and shorted out wire harness under the pump cover. also same for dtc p0004.
I replace one about 6 months ago. it came back. disassembeld and checked it found correctly installed with all updated parts and did the same thing.

You need to put a *cough* Ford Spec wire-tie around the loom and tie it to the wiring right at the connector.
Does your gasket have the black plastic convolute over it with the caps on either end of the convolute, or the "Chinese finger trap" kind?
