on this truck the #5 cylinder is pluggedinto the front driver side spot on the CP. that is how it was before I touched anything. I get 12.1 when testing between these two sockets. I gel O.L. whon testing from #1 to any of the other sockets on the CP.

My bad #5 is drivers side front. You should have 13-15k ohms. Test the the conector on the side of the coilpack. There are 3 small tabs. Change your mm setting Probe the middle and a side terminal you want less than 5 ohms not 5,000 ohms

Test the other pairs on the CP. These are the pairs 1/5 2/6 3/4. You want between 13-15k ohms the #4 cylinder is drivers side front

Are you talking about measuring between the socket on the CP and and where that flat connector plugs into the side of the CP? That is where I get 25.7 ohm from #5 socket and eache of the pins in the flat connector. There are 4 pins in that flat connector.

I get 13.5 ohm from #1 socket to each of those pins in the flat connector.

I get O.L. from all other sockets to the pins in the flat connector.

The sockets get testing together and the pins on the side terminal get tested together. You DO NOT test from a socket on the top of the CP to the to the pins on the side

You can also search and see if you have a seperate ignition control module or if it is part of the PCM

The CP might be OK the 12kohms is a little low. you can get it tested for free while you are doing that figure out if you have an seperate ignition module they will test that for free also. It is prob one of those two

Ok. had the cp tested at autozone and they said it was fine. I was testing the pins wrong before. He also said that the ignition mod was built into the cp. Not sure if he knows what hes talking about. Now dont know what to do.
