I let the dealer do it ,, Viper or DEI stuff requires a dealer install for warranty anyway
It took the 2 days to do it ,, then I jump back in and add all the cool stuff like proximity sensors interior ear pain siren , glass break , tie a button to open my toolbox etc
Well 12volt.com may be your Friend if u get stuck
I build all the same stuff you listed but the install for me was 1$ and then when I swapped trucks they charged me 60$ ,, they lost their **** ''if you are doing the remote start you better check it all out before you jump in and make sure you have all the required modules if it's a gas motor it will be easier
good luck brutha
I also have a '06 6.0 King Ranch....you don't mind just taking pictures of all your connections right? jk
I do appreciate the advice. Right now I am labeling all the wires before hand with the proper wires in the wiring diagrams i have found so far. Trying to look for the all questions i'll run into before i start.
If I am successful, then i have a second remote start kit for the wife's '05 escape.
Well I had to grab a dei programmer and tweak all the internal settings to get mine dialed in ,, there are options on anti grind , wait to start , tach or other inputs for run verification and if you mess up you may activate the glow plugs all the time and burn them out in short order ,, fun stuff like that lol http://sector29.com/PRODUCT_PAGES/37/37-DEI998T/
I had a Viper 5901 professionally installed a few months back. Every time the engine is cold it will try to start, fail, then try again and succeed.
By hand on a cold start it has never failed.
The glow plug delay is not the issue as I've watched it and they are ready to go every time. Someone said something about a tach module to fix this, but I'm not sure of the specifics.
I am having lots of problems for my 05 f250 6.0 remote start. My question is in the video your truck cranks for almost 10 seconds. My truck takes between 5 and 6, but I don't see in the install instructions a way to adjust the crank time more then 4 seconds. can you tell me what your settings are set at. Are you using tach and engine check? or Voltage. Do you have the tach inverter installed?
and the crank settings are not until the third menu (Menu 3-3). From there I do not see any bitwriter icon next to the crank time indicating that you can get more of an adjustment. Do all of your guys trucks Currently have the ability to crank more then 6 seconds? Is there a secret menu in the bitwriter they don't tell you about?
actually the longest option in the manual link you provided is 4 sec same as my 7901 yours cranked for 10 in the video
sit in it next time you try and actually verify the Glowplug light is comming on
that looks like a no GP start ??
