I have a 2008 F-250 with the 5.4L. I have an intake and exhaust done. Flowmaster super 44 series. I was wondering if replacing the stock cats will give me more power, and louder sound. If it is worth it to replace them let me know
If you do replace the cats, replace the entire Y-pipe and sell your OEM Y-pipe. The OEM Y-pipe with cats is a very expensive part.
Do you have a tuner? If not, then look at the SCT X3 tuner with custom tunes from Mike at 5 Star Tuning. This is the best "bang for the buck" I have experienced.

do you have any info on new y pipes? or what you would go with?
I'm not aware of any aftermarket company that sells a replacement Y-pipe with cats for the Super Duty truck with the 5.4L engine. You would have to purchase "universal" cats and have a local muffler shop fabricate a new Y-pipe for you. To be honest, I don't think that it is worth the effort to make the change considering that you have a 2008 model truck with cats that are in excellent condition. Also, you need to consider the potential impact on your factory warranty.
Ok, I guess then now what i am looking for in just a louder sound because, I have done almost everything I can perf. wise and if the new cats wont do anything then I wont pursue it. I have the super 44 series, will taking out some of the baffles do anything?
The Super 44 Series mufflers are the loudest that Flowmaster has to offer. It's a 2-chamber design so I don't know if you can eliminate another chamber. I assume that a 3" ID / 3" OD muffler was used with your 3" OEM exhaust system. If you really want a louder exhaust note, then you may want to use the muffler below and have the tips exit in front of the right rear wheel. The shorter tailpipe should increase the exhaust note.
