Getting ready to have my O3 EX with 7.3 inspected but somebody told me it's supposed to have a CAT? I replaced the exhaust with 4" from turbo back about a year ago but honestly can't remember if it had a CAT or not?
If it did, it was probably Cali only, they do that kinda weird crap out there. Look under your hood at the emission sticker, if it says "Non-Catalyst" then no.

Well doesn't that just make me feel like a complete idiot! Sure enough it says right there under the hood......."Non Catalyst Vehicle"!
It wasn't a shop it was actually some guy who was looking at my EX yesterday. I was looking to trade my EX for his Dually and that was one of the things he brought up when I started talking about each having our vehicles inspected. I am ashamed to admit it but he also said something about my oil pan being crushed above the sway bar and although I thought maybe it was made that way I honestly didn't know for sure. Yeah, I know....bet you have a bridge you want to sell me!
Ok, was wondering if it was one of my former idiot customers. Some of them weren't too bright up there. On the oil pan, if it doesn't look like this, you may have a problem...lol

Nope, no 7.3L powered Excursion ever came with a cat from the factory. They were ALL non-catalyst.
The ONLY Excursions that came with cats were all the gassers and the 6.0L PSD's.
There's no way that the sway hit the oil pan and left that clean a dent all the way across. Its either how it came stock... I don't know what the 7.3. oil pan looks like, or someone did a really weird modification - that's probably the hardest way possible to fit a sway bar under a car with minor interference issues with an oil pan.
Does someone have a picture of a 2003 7.3 with a sway bar and oil pan, all stock?
