i'm looking for a original 48 f-1 bed for my truck the short 6 1/2 mine is rusted severly on the lower passenger side does anyony have one for sale or just the side. if not does anyone make or know where i can get patch panels to fix this one the sub frames channel that runs down the side is gone. drivers side looks good only needs minor work need to know within next 3 day or so taking bed to sandblaster to strip down to start fix if i cant find a donor bed or full bed

You're in luck, relatively speaking. The F1 beds are easier to find than the larger trucks and there are some replacement parts for them. Just so you know the 48- mid year 1950 beds are the same. In mid year 1950 they changed from a rasied panel sidewall to the flatsided box with the square stake pockets.
Parts for both style beds are available from many sources. Here is one of my favorites; Mack Hils 2010, Mack Products
But you might also check out Dennis Carpenter, Bob Drake, LMC, Northern Classic Trucks, etc.
You might also keep your eye out in your town for an old truck bed trailer, sometimes you can find them dirt cheap, swap the beds out and resell the trailer
