Okay so did the 6637 mod to day left the air charge sincere hanging the temp all day was about 40 as the high truck ran fine all day no problem now tonight its in the low 30 and at first the truck ran good all of a sudden it blew the pcm fuse I replaced it started the truck drove maybe 50ft and it shut off checked the fuse still good so I waited 5min truck fired right up drove maybe 50ft did the same thing again and parked it for about 2 hours and it did the same thing again. What's the deal
Is it #30 in the fuse block? If that's the number, your fuel bowl heater is shorting out and it's blowing that fuse which is tied to your PCM thus causing your truck to die in its tracks. You need to unplug your heater connection from the rear of the fuel bowl, replace fuse and you should be up and running. You really don't need the heater, honestly. Here's a pic of the connection: http://www.dieselorings.com/docs/FuelBowlRebuild.pdf
It don't blow the fuse every time. It now runs fine in park put it in drive take off and it shuts off. In lets say 5min try to restart the truck and it runs till you try to take off
You need to post up the number of the fuse and we can cross reference it to a manual of your truck model year - BTW - what is your truck model year? Once you know what that fuse is tied to, you can pinpoint where a short is happening.
Could it be a short in the steering column? I have read where some of the guys on here have had shorted wires under or in the column? If it happens as soon as u put it in gear
Here is the rest of the under hood fuse designations. I screwed up on the first post. The last one in that post is UNDER DASH. Don't let me confuse you if I haven't already.
