Couple quick thoughts- Maybe the 30 amp fuse that keeps blowing is the PCM fuse, not the Trailer tow fuse. Are you counting fuses physically present, or fuse slots-empty or full? I looked at the trailer charge circuit that there is no way that can backfeed into anything else without some serious wiring issues.
Second- If you haven't already, find your IAT sensor you left dangling and make sure is isn't pinched, or fell on the exhaust or otherwise in a position where it can ground out. It is tied in with almost ALL of the other engine sensors. If that shorts it will play havoc with the PCM.
Now the truck with or with out the head lights on the truck will only run for maybe a minute if you press on the gas it dies right away but will run a little longer if no gas
Turn your key and then quickly(within 15 seconds) place your hand on your fuel pump on the dirvers frame under the truck to see if it is running. Also- what if your fuel level?
Check the two bolts that hold the air intake tube to the valve cover.....It is a big black bracket and the bottom bolt will back off and get in to the wires on the 42 pin connector...Freedevin here on the board had a problem just like you are having because that bolt backed off and got in the wires and grounded one out....They are 8mm or 5/16...I just took my bottom one out....Mine was backed off but not grounding wires yet....That may be a good place to look since you were disturbing that area when you did the air filter.....
All the wires are good and bolts are tight. I just don't get it all I did was the filter mod that's it
Well it was worth a look...Did you happen to check the connectors near the master cyc. on the inner fender well....Ya have to think its got to be something in that area....Be sure and post what fixes it...Crazy stuff like this is almost always very simple and uncommon ....Good luck with it....
Retrace your steps for the filter install. Even though you didn't mess with that large harness over the driver side valve cover, disconnect it, inspect it well, see if there is any stress/strain on the harness. Feel around under it where it contacts the valve cover. Wiggle there, see if you feel anything odd. Look under the master cylinder, make sure the three large plugs are secure and dry, along with the rectangular one closest the wheel (PCM harness) Wires in this area can cause the type of failure your describing.
I'd remove the intake up to the CCV, and start the truck, and start wiggling harnesses in that area.
Thats crazy ....Just to let ya know the mixing chamber in my fuel tank was messed up and ide run out of fuel at 1/4 of a tank....Just for the hell of it put a couple of gallons in it...You stated in a post above you were at a 1/4...At this point it cant hurt...I guess at this point its worth a try....
Trying to follow this, did you unplug the fuel bowl heater? This seems to be a common problem, and is super easy to eliminate, may be some confusion on which fuse it is. Maybe PCM is going out?
