does anyone know what heads were used on a 84 f150 w/302 engine? it is the orignal engine that came in the truck. i'm getting ready to rebuild it in april and the local yard doesn't have the gt40 heads anymore so i'm looking at a set of e7te's...
thanks for the fast response Paul. i know a guy who has a engine from a mustang which is blown and he had told me he'd let me have it for $75 i just need to call him and see if he still has it. i know these are the e7's
question fellas. the guy who's going to build the engine for me said that he could install bigger valves in my stock heads to get better flow. i believe he said 2.02 & i.94 stainless steel valve would it be better to do this to the stock one that i have or to the E7TE's...
Valves alone won't improve the heads the ports have to be fully ported as well and that will cost you WAY more than the heads are worth. For reference you can buy CNC ported E7 heads for $600 ready to bolt on and these will outperform any hand ported head by a mile.
Also: Untouched E7's will support close to 300HP if the motor has enough intake, cam, and exhaust.
thanks for the heads up. well paul you've already refered me to a few cam choices on another site. so the E7's will have to do unless they come across the gt40's
