interchange question
I know I might catch a little bit of flack about this but I have a 89 Ford F-450 with the 7.3 non-turbo diesel and 5 speed transmission. The otherday , not really sure what happened, but the motor locked up in it. Didnt knock or anything just died and locked up. Anyway my question is what all gas type motors will bolt up to my current transmission? My father-in-law has several ford gas engines and told me i could have one if I found out what would work with my transmission. Any and all help would be appreciated.

The bellhousing is integrated, BUT there has been some guys on oilburner that has reamed out some holes and drilled some and used a 460 tranny behind a diesel. I have seen pictures of it and it is nothing I want, but I guess it is working for some.
