Buying Transmission

I have an 2004 Ford F250 XLT Super Duty V10 (automatic) i believe it is the 4r100 transmission, Would a 2006 F350 4r100 (auto) transmission fit my truck just fine?

The seller said it would fit any Triton motor trucks, and all harness and cable should just plug right up. I just wanted to be sure since my transmission is having problems, and this 06 F350 transmission has only 60k on it, for a really good price. Wouldn't mind having a back up.

Another question, is there any way I can inspect the transmission, assuring that it is in working condition, or is it one of those deals that I'll just have to trust the seller.

the 2006 would have a 5R110 ( I think thats the name) Torqueshift tranny. not a 4R100 anymore, stopped in 2005

I am also not aware of any 2006 F-350's coming with 4R100's.

The 5R110 is a better transmission, but swapping it into a pre '05 truck would NOT be a plug and play proposition! It would be an electronic challenge. Or nightmare, depending on your electronics knowledge and patience....
