I've been reading around and haven't found what I'm looking for, but I'll keep searching. In the mean time I'll ask here
I have 2000 f350 with a PSD. It ran absolutely fine, until today. I had it idleing for about 15 minutes while I was cleaning the snow off of it, and all of a sudden it just turned off, and wouldn't start (crank, no fire, wait to start light comes on with key, fuel in the filter.)
I went in for 15 minutes, then wiggled the CPS plug, and it started right up, idled for about a minute, then died again, (while running, it revved fine) and wouldn't start.
My parts supplier is closed right now, so I'll go first thing in the morning. What are your thoughts? I was gonna start by changing the CPS and fuel filter.
And ideas/suggestions are welcome, I need to get this fixed right, right away.
Your CPS (below the fan) may have got a little water past the seal and shut it down. mine did that every time it rained until I changed it out. take it out and dry it out and put some vasoline on the rubber seal and it should be fine.
I had a similar thing happen today, I let my 1999 f350 idle for about 10 mins then put it in reverse and it died. Check engine light comes on but wait to start does not, it turns over but wouldn't restart. Don't know how to check for codes. Will check the cps wiring and watch your thread for possible fixes.

your problem sounds like it may be a shorted fuel bowl heater, check fuse 30 in the fuse box if it blown unplug the fuel bowl heater and replace the fuse, but you really should start a new post for this......wait a shorted fuel bowl heater won't give you a CEL because the PCM is dead...................... I think
to the OP have you looked at your ICP? any oil in the plug? How about the IPR...tin nut nice and tight?

Reason: rectal cranial inversion
I haven't, I'll check these right now. (I'll look in my manual for their location, I'm not very familiar with this engine).
I tried to start it 5 mins ago; it cranked, fired for a second, then died.
IPC is located on the driver side head just behind the alternator, has a plug on top with 2 wires coming out of it. You will be looking for oil comeing out of the plug or the plug being wet.
IPR is located on the back and driverside of the HPOP. You will be looking to see if the big tin nut on the back of it is tight.
If you do a forum search in the 7.3L section you can come up with picks and locations. I am on an internet aircard at the moment so bandwidth is limited.
Hope you get it figured out Fox, just got home and checked the fuse clem suggested and it was good but noticed the problem right away, my DPTuner chip was barely hanging in place. Pushed it back in place and reapplied new duct tape and she fired right up.
It's been a while since I have had to utilize this site but it's nice to see everyone is still polite and helpful.
Just threw my scanner on it, got these codes (continuous memory test; KOEO came up with nothing, and I can't do a KOER)
0562 - System Voltage Low
1280 - Injector Continuos Pressure Sensor (ICP?) Circuit Low Voltage (btw, ICP had no oil what so ever on the plug)
0107 - MAP/BARO Sensor Low Input
1670 - Continuous Electronic Feedback Signal Not Detected (Any thoughts on this??)
0344 - Cam Position Sensor A Circiut Intermittent
I'm concentrating on the Cam Sensor and ICP sensor code. Should I change out the CPS first, and go from there?
Also, when I crank it I can smell the diesel in the exhaust, what does that mean?
When it does run, it shuts off like a switch, which makes me think electrical (not to mention the problem came out of absolutely nowhere).
CPS first. Get one from Ford or International. Also check your plug and wiring since wiggling the plug seemed to help. I'd clear and ignore all the other codes for now. See if they come back after the new CPS.

Thanks for the help.
I see 2 problems here. I would say to replace your CPS as the others have said but also make sure that your batteries are fully charged. Your IDM needs to see a minimum of 10.5 volts in order to fire the injectors repeated cranking along with the glowplugs will drain a battery quick.
