I like the clean sturdy sound of the Banks Power Pack at the tail pipe (kinda sexy actually). A little tinny from inside the cab, but I'm pleased with it.
The last V-10 I heard using glass packs sounded like a UPS delivery truck that had dropped it's tailpipe. Wasn't at all pleasant, but it was unique.
Hurts me feelings when you make fun of me old Cummins Rams like that.
+1 for the glass packs but, the longest glass packs you can get. The short ones sound too much like ultra high performance race inspired $200 1990 Honda Civic with $400 shiny muffler coat hangered to the rear bumper.
First one I had a splitter put in right after the cat, had a pair of Flowmaster 50's and then twin pipes out of both sides. It sounded great outside, the closest I have ever heard a V-10 sound like an 8. Bad part was I tow a trailer and after 4 hours on the highway your ears start hurting from the cab noise.
New truck got a Flowmaster 70 series. It's the only one they recommend and its not bad, wish it was louder though. Pulling the camper doesn't drive you crazy anymore though.
Whatever you do make sure the volume of air you are pushing out can be EASILY flowed out. You wouldn't want to hurt performance for sound, well I don't think.
