F450 revs to moon now won't start ???

I was selling my truck , it has been sitting for 4 months started it up and It ran great then the guy buying was trying to find first then all it revved to Redline . It has the PTO control it was going up . So I just turned the key off and now it won't start.

Any ideas , is there a reset or something on the truck or the PTO rpm guage ?

well, i dont know to much but try turning the key to the run position (just before start) bout 8 times really fast, the doors will lock then unlock, thats the only reset i can think of. Of coarse thats on a f150 and not a diesel

Just guessing, but you may need to disengage the PTO to start it back up... Should be a switch somewhere in the cab for PTO on/off. What engine? I'm assuming that it has a Manual trans?

When you say it won't start, what do you mean? What happens when you turn the key? Does the engine crank over?

I would test the clutch safety switch first then.

I don't know much about the PTO's, what made it rev?

I don't know , he started pushing buttons on the RPM control . I have no idea how to properly use it. But it just started screaming to redline.

Sorry, I don't have any idea. I never driven a truck with a PTO.

I wonder if there is a fuse for the PTO controls. Might be an idea to find out and try to remove the fuse if there is one for it.

I'd also recommend doing some googling to maybe find some information on the PTO. Might get lucky and find a manual.
Find some part numbers on the PTO and controls and try a search.
