Well, that would save you the trouble of painting flames on your truck!

since i'm planning on using a 4bt diesel, i've been trying to plan the exhaust system. i need the space between the frame and driveline for the fuel tank(s). no fuel tank inside the cab, for me.
four link air bag suspension. i don't have many choices to locate the exhaust pipe. (single 3" pipe).
i thought #1 a side pipe might be to close to the pavement. with a crown vic front end and the truck leveled.
#2 i'm considering a passinger side stack (side pipe) behind and to the side of the cab.
but i don't want muffer drone in the cab.
i can't attach to the bed as it will tilt (dump bed).
my batteries, hydroboost and air tank are to be mounted on the drivers side, between the frame and driveline.
the brakes will have a guided rod from the pedal to the hydroboost.
i want a cab without access panels in the floor. the floor and sides inside the cab is going to be sprayed with rino bed liner and dyna matted. (diesel engine = noise)

or #3 i could run the pipe along the frame and exit at the back of the running board. shortening the passinger side running board to make room for the pipe...

comments on placement of exhaust on the passinger side, side pipe, tail pipe at the back of running board or stack ????

I have Lake Pipes, purchased them from Speedway Motors, they look great and sound great. I won the muffler rapping contest at Ducktail last year with them.

Julie ,notice relocated battery box inside r. frame rail under passenger seat ? Needed to clean up the engine bay and have room for the FE engine .
Yes those are original Goodyear Raised White Letter Polyglas GT tires . Not wide ovals .Acquired 3 of them on 5-16-1980 for $150.00 . 2 G 70x15 & 1 H-70 x 15 . So now the search was on for 1 more H-70 .
While on a trip back to the homeland Rice Lake , Wi.in 1983 I was in a bar with an old friend of mine talking about the old days while having some beers . I asked him if he would know any one who would have a Goodyear Polyglas H-70-15 tire . To my astonishment he said " I think a friend of mine has one " I said "Let's go see " so off we went . Wasn't very far, a few blocks or so , He was there and sure enough he had the tire I needed in his garage . It was like new . I asked "How much ?" He said "$20.00 " I gave him $30 . This is a true story
Using the G's on the front and H's on the rear gives the truck a little rake . The reason for the tires is the truck has a little old school in it and those were the type of tires I had on it back in the day 1970 . Sure am glad I have record of the $27.629.14 in invested reciepts to back up the dates and info .
One of the fun things about this truck build is that every part has a story .
Am currently finishing the hood air deflector . Base colored it sat . and will color sand & clear coat today . Have new rubber to install with stainless fasteners . This was a learning process on the air deflector as I had a V8 unit ready to install , all painted and clear coated . After the install I found out that by moving the radiator forward to the 6 cyl. position the hood would not close . So located a 6 cyl. piece and repeated the process .

Hmmm....Missed the battery box.

I have to agree. On my truck every piece I've replaced has a story - and a reason. It's funny but we put so much more care into them that the folks who manufactured them!

You're a brave man Denny! My parts reciept file is about 4 inches thick - and I'm afraid to add them all up! Just spent about $1000 total on the trailer alone - new wheels, tires, box front panel, tail lights, etc. But it is looking great!

I have everything for them but the instructions. They run the whole length of the running boards.I can't seem to figure out how they mount up. Do you attach the L brackets to the running board brackets or where? I'm soo confused. Help me!
