>>> WHAT TRANSFER - CASE DO I HAVE ???

Truck is 1972 F-250 V-8 4-speed divorced transfer-case with locking hubs.

The shift pattern is NOT straight back and forth like the NP-203s and -205s.

Starting sort of center at HI-LOK, straight back is HI, then over left allows it to travel forward to N, then all the way forward and then right is LO, then straight back is LO-LOK.

Someone suggested possibly it is a Dana-20, but I don't know.

I am almost certain it is factory-original; what were the transfer-case options for this truck ??

Thanks.

It should be a Dana 24.

Thank you.

How does the Dana 24 compare to a NP-205 ??

Is the Dana 24 gear-driven or chain-drive ??

Thanks.

It's gear to gear, and about equal to the 205, but nowhere near as popular or easy to find parts for.
