Thumbs up Some good Ford sources

Ok all just got my LMC catalog in the mail, must say the thought of replacing all the older parts and making it new again is very tempting. Which is something i think i am still gonna do cause new parts on an older truck is just too cool. Replacing all the rubbers in the truck should help alot with the newer polyurethanes they have nowadays. So have to admit i want to make it look nice again and have people say nice truck. I also checked out a Summit catalog at a friends house but to tell you the truth i thought the Ford parts were a little on the shy side much like in the Jeg's catalog. I know that the other brand is the bread and butter for alot of people in the motor building industry but come on. I can't help but wonder if some of you retired guys had the same problem back when the 390 was popular. Finding out reproduction parts if a person wants to go performance can be limited on the ole 390. I stopped going to car shows cause all i saw was 350's in everything and will only go to one if there is more Ford's than Chevy's but as car shows go that is nearly impossible. Just tired of seeing good vehicles getting desecrated by using other makes. I know not everyone feels this way but i do. I was always taught to keep same makes with same makes of parts not cookie cut everything together. When i hear of another Chevy transplant i am like big deal, a 3 year old can do that. So gonna ask the masses about any thing on the 390 drivetrain that will hold up to a hard accelerator every now and then. Even thinking of a windage tray and girdle to make the bottom end bullet proof along with roller everything on the top end. I am gonna overbuild it if that's possible. Looking at a tranny from ford aod website to help with not twisting her too tight on the freeway. From my dad working on drivelines he told me driveline walls were .065 stock so he went with .120 and went to the bigger u joints. I am tired of breaking the whimpy stuff so gonna go ape@#$% on the good quality parts. Went to the Ford racing website but seems like the 351 and 460 reign supreme these days. I think it should cover more performance for all the engine family's but that's just me. Lightweight indestructible parts would just be way cool if you ever decide to spank a rice burner or some punk@$$ kid who thinks he is hot chit in a chevy pickup. Just my .02 only what i think, not trying to stir up anything, just another die hard fan trying to keep an older truck on the road despite high gas prices.
