Hey my Buddys 95 apparently doesn't hav glow plugs. The kid he bought rhe truck off said they all need to be replaced bit you'd figure atleast a couple plugs would have aittle life in them. But it smokes white, raw fuel when starting on cold starts. Zero kick at all, you Can hear the solenoid click but the volt meter doesn't drop. So he's been using ether to start it in the mornings since the plugs aren't getting juice, he's knows better to use ether on diesel too but you gotta do what you gotta do till it gets fixed.
When the trucks finally running I can here the solenoid click 6 or 7 times before it stops, what kills the WTS light and no glowplugs? Will a solenoid still click if it's busted?
PCM controls the 'wait to start" light, bulb might be burned out.
PCM also controls the GPR.
Next cold start take a large screwdriver and short across the two large lugs on the GPR for 30 seconds.
Jump in the truck and try to start. If it fires up then the relay is bad.
Clicking of the relay can be caused by low battery voltage. That may be an issue too since these trucks need a fast crank to fire up properly.
I've done he screw driver thing, it's got brand new batteries and the solenoid clicks, h replace the bulb and it works when the trucks wArm but not stone cold lol
Thats odd for it to only work when its cold. I cant think of anything that would do that. Wow hope someone knows how to fix it cause it would be very useful to know.
