OT: TechShop
TechShop is a co-op for DIYers popping up in major cities. The one here has a comprehensive metals shop filled with high tech tools, CNC machines, lathes English wheel, shrinkers stretchers, brakes, power hammer, torches, MIG, TIG, work bays, lift, etc etc. Membership starts at 39.00 a month or you can get 6 month or year discount packages for basically unlimited use. So far there are locations in:
Los Angeles
Sacramento, Calif.
San Diego, Calif.
San Francisco
Sunnyvale, Calif.
Orlando, Fla.
Durham, N.C.
Portland, Ore.
Austin, Texas
Seattle

I got so excited I forgot to mention they have other area for other work such as wood, plastic, electronics, sewing (even commercial machines capable of upholstery work), 3D CNC routers, laser cutters and plasma cutters, vinyl cutters, 3D printers, and much much more.
