Rear hatch sensor

My door ajar light and interior lights stay on after I open and close the rear hatch. I have read to change the sensors. How hard is this to do? It is the driver side sensor.

Not too bad. Easier than removing the front door latch/switches IMO.

You just remove the plastic surrounding the rear window glass to get access to the switch. then remove the 2 (or 3?) screws from the outside that hold it to the hatch, disconnect the wiring harness plug and the cable.

All that being said, have you tried some WD40 on it just for grins before replacing. Sometimes does the trick...
