I have never run stacks on mine, and cant comment on a single straight pipe, but with big duals straight it has a very sweet and nice rumble until you hook on to a gooseneck and hit a hill or hit a certain rpm. IT then explodes into a still sweet unbearable deafening sound and talks you into installing mufflers real quick. lol
Cool, so i am coming throug the bed with four and that will be where my dads 5" stack comes in and finishes the rest. This weekend i will fab the pipe in and cut the bed. Should be interesting until i get the stack! hahaha
I love the sound of the straight pipe. It lets everyone know that I am comeing lol. I do know that I have not lisened to the stereo since I put this engine in. With those big open pipes running down the sides it should sound sweet and help with air flow. I will keep them when I get it turboed just make a y pipe to run out to them.
As my sig says I like to build things rather than buy them myself. At least that way I knw what is there and what it will do. When I get the plow home tomarrow I already plan to fab up all new from the pivot piont back including the mount under the truck. I just can't leave well enough alone I geuss lol.
These were a product that Lund made for these vintage trucks but are but they don't make them anymore and are actually pretty rare. I have only ever seen one other pair in 20 years, and that was on a truck over at TDS.
They also made them for Rangers and Ford used them on some conversion type trucks. I have seen a number of the on the Rangers.
I actually bought at pimped out 89 f150 4x4 that had the flares on it just cause I wanted the flares for my truck. I took them off and sold the truck, put the flares in the shop for a couple of years till I had the time to give the truck a makeover.
So If I ever have a blowout on a rear tire I am screwed!
