I use them to price shop but found that by the time u pay shipping and have them m&b I can get em cheaper locally. Plus if there is a warranty situation it might be tough with shipping

The car owners use them most of the time. Very good prices and nice website that allows you to compare some options.
I usually buy tires at Costco. Their installation and insurance charges are unbeatable and even if they don't stock the tires you want, usually they can special order them in few days.

I've used them these last two sets of tires with no warranty issues but I'll buy locally next time, shipping is outragous now. You still pay the increased shipping charges, some of it is passed on with the sale of the tires. Wal-mart sells the revos now, might want to check them, also selling the Coopers and BFG's.

I used tirerack. Good folks. Bought rims and snow tires w/studs. Studs installed, mounted on rims and balanced. And delivered . I just slapped them on.. I think it was in the upper $600 range if i remember. For my wifes zx5 Focus. 3 winters later, working on 4th. Rims still look new and tires still look new. About 15-18k miles. No issues.

i used them once....ONCE...and the only reason was i couldn't find 295/60/14's anywhere for my old hot rod S-10 Chebbie except there...as stated, by the time you tack on shipping and the added fee to have them mounted and balanced, Michelins start looking pretty cheap...lol

I used them a few months ago to buy tires for my wife's X3. Every shop locally was selling the same tires for over $200 each, and Tirerack had them for $140. Paid $40 total to ship all 4, so even with shipping I saved a good bit of money.

I also bought tires for my truck from Tirerack a few years ago. It was slightly cheaper with shipping than buying them locally. Didn't save quite as much as I did with my wife's car, but still was a little cheaper.

Best bet is to compare prices, and see who comes out cheaper for the exact same tire.

OK Curtis, but what did it cost you to have 'em m&b'd...???...that wasn't free...and it's generally included when you buy 4 from the retailers...unless it's Wal-Fart...those people would charge you to sit in their chair while you wait if they could figure out how to get the cashiers to "scan" it in...

Double ditto! None of the local tire guys take it real easy on you when you buy your tires somewhere else and them want them to mount and balance them. I am 99% positive Wal-Mart would say it is a saftey risk to mount the TireRack tires and send you home.

I used them once to buy travel trailer tires shipped 400 miles to where the trailer was located. There is a link on the website to shops locally that will balance and mount for fixed fee. The place I chose actually came in on a holiday weekend because I was out of town.

I've never bought anything from them but my buddy with an 04 6leaker bought $2,000 worth of rims and tires from them and they gave him the wrong lug nuts, 14mm 2" HT didnt fit so he called and they shipped out another set...its been a week and a half.

Over...

I've used them twice, and both times it worked out cheaper than buying them locally. I think it just depends on which tire you want and what brand tire dealers you have in your area. They had the last tires I bought from them steeply discounted, so it was a no-brainer to buy from them even with the shipping tacked on.

The tires that I got for my wife's car, every shop that carried them was also going to charge for M&B even if I bought the tires from them. I asked. The cheapest quote I got was $15 a tire. I'm guessing it was "BMW tax", which is why it was more expensive.

So for that set, it was going to be the same either way.

As for my truck, Discount Tire was not going to charge M&B on my truck if I bought them there, but they were charging the highest prices out of everyone for the exact same tire. If I had the tires shipped in, they would have charged $12 a tire to M&B. I did end up getting them shipped to Big'O tires near my house, and they charged me $8 a tire to M&B. However, I had already price shopped them, and I still came out cheaper by going through Tirerack. Not quite as much savings as my wife's car, but still fairly decent. So no complaints really.

The cheapest ive found for revo 2s around here is 247 each, plus 10 bucks to mount and balance. Tire rack wants 195 each, plus shipping, plus the 10 dollar mount, im still money ahead to have them shipped in. I dont know why dealers around here wont deal on tires, but 247 dollars each for a tire is kinda on the expensive side, yikes!
