Hello All.
I've got a 2000 F250 SD Diesel and when I hit the brakes, it pulls to the right. I've taken it to the dealer and for some reason they can not find the problem. My truck has new tires, brakes are good and the front end is in perfect alignment.
I'm not for sure. They told me that everything checked out ok and it might be that the one brake needs to be rebuilt. If I take my hand off the stearing wheel and hit the brakes, it will pull to the right.
I just called the dealer and they informed me that they checked the caliper and slide pins when the wheel was off. I apologize, but I meant to say it was pulling to the left, not right. So this means something is wrong with the right caliper.
Nope, they did not check the slide pins.
Thank you very much for your help. I'm going to have this done this week.
Have a great day!
Jimmy
Don't neglect to inspect the "rears" too. They can cause the truck to pull. For some reason shops forget to look there, and it could just be the pads are worn out, biting into the rotor, or the rear slide pins may not be "sliding" ...causing the pull. Just sayin
If that doesnt fix it be sure to check the rubber hoses off the calipers....I bad hose with internal problems will cause that.... I small piece of rubber broken off or some type of trash can do some weird things... Ive seen many on many different makes go bad without external defects while working in a brake/muffler shop...Let us know what ya find..MATT
I took it in today and told them to check the slide pins and replace if necessary. All they needed was a good cleaning and did not have to be replaced. Thy even put new brake pads on the front for free because my other ones were under warranty and they wanted to make sure all problems were ruled out.
Now she stops like a new one....... The slide pins were the problem.
What free pads from a dealership? Thats unherd of now a days. In the past 2 years we had 3 local dealers shut there doors. One Heep, One Chebby, and One Ferd. Of course they are all the same company too. Gotta love Burt.
Glad to hear that you got your issue taken care of!
