4x4 no work
Back to the well for more advice. I have my work truck in the field and my guys report that 4x4 isn't working - it isn't working in Low or High.
This truck is a 97 F-350 with factory auto hubs - 215K on the odometer and Auto Transmission.
I am trying to diagnose from afar. 4x4 light work correctly for high and low. Shift lever feels normal in moving from 2wd to 4H to 4L.
I read another post where someone recommended trying the heater and blowing air to the floor - apparently if the air goes to the defroster instead, it means you have a vacuum leak and then the hubs wouldn't engage - can anyone confirm the validity of this test? The air blew on the floor when I had my guys try this.
Any and all help in diagnosing from afar (can't afford much downtime when it comes home) is appreciated. Thanks!
