hey, so i just got this 95 350. it allready has intake and exhaust done to it. i have an edge evo for it but i know that the edge ones arent the best on these trucks. everyone says the dp's and other sustom type tunes are the best but im lookin for somethin more simple and not custom. i was wondering about the hypertech programmers. any opionons whether or not they are any good on these trucks?
I'e got a superchips 1705 in my F350 and F450...its not bad. Generic tunes nothing special. But you can pick them up cheap. Not to sure about the edge chips, herd people have had huge issues with them.
You can pick up a TW, DP or a PHP cheep with custom tunes for your truck on it.
Yea, they are generic, but they are generic for your setup.
I'd go with a DP for the setup you got. you can get a 2 or a 3 setting tuner for a stock setup like yours pretty cheep and you should be happy with it.
he's right about the EGT's i have an exhaust leak on my 2002 F450 from hauling my 32' Marine pad trailer with the tune on off road. shoulda had a guage....

If you are looking for a programer the superchip is about the best one for these trucks af far as programers go.but if you want one PM me ihave one for sale
Kris, if your asking about a tuner then just go to DP-Tuner and look there. I am getting an F6 from them but had the F5 for quite a while and I loved it, sold it last week and just haven't gotten around to buying a new one. But custom tunes for your truck will blow that superchips out of the water from what I'm told. There is a good difference from stock to superchips and then another good difference between that and a custom chip.
haha sorry man it was already spoken for. My buddies got the same truck as me and has been on my azz about it since I mentioned getting an F6. But one recomendation I have for you is to get levels in increments of 40hp if you get say an 80 horse tune and then the 100 horse tune you will be somewhat disapointed becuase there is no WOW factor. But if you go in 40 horse increments then the pucker factor is much more noticable. If I was you I would do no start, stock, 40hp heavy tow, 80hp econo, 120hp race, and then you could do a 140 aggressive or a smoke or something like that. And I would do an F5 just because they are cheaper, but if you have the extra money I thin kthat the F6 would be worth it. Hopefully I'll have mine in th enext week or so.
I like my PHP chip, got it from Jim at Rosewood (DIY-Injectors.com) for a very good price. Easier than a programmer IMHO, just clean the pcm, plug and play...
We dont have duramaxes.
And programmers are kinda a bad way to say it.
They are the same thing as our chips, but they are not.
With a programmer, you cannot hot switch like you can with the chips.
You have to "program" the PCM and then go.
Leave the programing to the industry pro's, and grab a proven device.
