replacement U-Joints

I am looking for replacement U-Joints for a 2004 F150 FX4 1 peice drive shaft and i have the staked in-place u-joints.. Any Ideas? Im not about to pay $300 to have the drive line shop replace them....

Carquest has the joints. Part no.3-0488. Ford also offers the joint separately now (Part no. 4L3Z 4635-AB).

Now these u joints are not stock and I'm told I have to cut a groove in mydrive shaft for the new u joints? And ford wants $150 per u joint

You do have to cut a groove to service the u-joint. The new joint comes with a detailed instruction sheet and a cutting tool.

Perfect...... after looking at it mine has a grove already in it??? or will i have to re-cut it?

Ford puts a round type cutting tool in the cut to boar out the yoke end where its peened over the u-joint end caps.

just $17.... Cut out the stakes, not a big deal ...and use the disc shims under the clips...
