Engine light after stepping on gaz

My engine light comes on after I step hard on the gaz, like passing or going uphill. This is the fourth time now. On the first 2 occasions, they just reseted and said there was no codes, they did a complete turbo and engine diagnostic. On the third time, they replaced a sensor, part number CX-1961 and added some diesel fuel conditionner. It fixed the problem for a few months, 3000 miles, but now the dam light came back on and stays on after many runs.

They said they would have to probably clean the turbo if it happen again. I think it could be EGR dirty?
I just do not want this problem to keep on going after the engine is not on warranty.
My engine has 32,000 miles, the engine is on warranty but truck has over 3 years. Is the EGR or turbo still on waranty?

Your EGR and Turbo are warrantied for 5 years or 100k miles, whichever comes first.

I agree. The insight has its own value as a gauge panrl, and it is great that it can read some codes also. As far as a specific code reader, spend the money on an Autoenginuity or don't buy one at all. The cheap ones don't read all the codes.

Thanks for all your reply. I could not read the codes on the cheap OB2, so I will have to go to the dealer anyway, since it is warranty, I hope they fix it correctly.
All also had some weird things after, the ABS light came on and the Tow Haul was not working, no increase of RPM when pushing the tow button.

When It happen, I accelerated quickly, my boost was around 30.

The exact one I own is $50

http://www.amazon.com/Autel-AULMS310...6975974&sr=1-7

They have a cheaper model, but I am not sure what it covers.

Amazon.com: Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBD-II Scan Tool: Automotive

It is $29 DELIVERED anywhere in lower 48 states.

I have used the $50 thing now since I had the truck, it reads the basic codes, not the diesel specific codes, and it gives me about a 5% vision.

A heck of a lot better than ZERO vision with a CEL.

It will cough up codes like P0699, etc. and let you reset the codes.
