need a little help, please
I received an e-mail Friday the 12th;
Good Morning Bryan , just to let you know they safely arrived this morning.
took time but got here in the end , so should be able to fit them Monday next week.
not worked out too bad , $230 for the parts , $120 shipping and $80 customs duty in the end
so take of the $60 when i take the cores back and approximately $370
i could not get one side for that here in the UK , imports eh ..
I was glad to be of help.
Seriously, threads like this go a long ways towards maintaining my faith in humanity. You've gotta love examples of people being willing to help out a complete stranger based on nothing but an ultimately meaningless common bond.

However what I did was not much.
I would like to let people know that it does not take a great deal of effort to help someone out.
What I did was a simple Internet search for parts prices.
I then sent Marcus the phone # for the local store with the best price.
He ordered the parts and paid for them by credit card.
I picked them up and went to the post office and got the price of the postage and the box (free box).
BTW; the US post office was half the price of either UPS or Fedex.
Marcus put the postage money in my Paypal account.
I went to the post office and mailed the package.
The total time invested by me was maybe a hour and a half.
The step that took the greatest part of that time was boxing up the parts for the trip.
I'm posting this to show that helping out someone doesn't take a great deal of effort to achieve a good result.
The next time you have a chance to help someone step up and make the world a better place!
as i was flushing the old through the back calipers the fluid came out almost black , when this was running with the new clear fluid i went to change the front pads and flush the front calipers from the old dirty fluid.
changed front pads (with help of huge screwdriver as lever) went to find bleed nipple , looked...looked again , could not find them on either side..
it turns out that the previous owner had sheared them off..... not great

so after a few calls around my local spare shops , not many here , i found a great company in redhill (surrey , in the RH1 postal area for those in the UK) American Auto parts.
they had the left front caliper in stock and should be able to get the right side within 10 days, great i thought , i paid for the left and it arrived next day, Wednesday.
we wanted to go on a few '00 mile trip for the weekend so was now considering taking two cars (the wifes Evo and my daughters ford fiesta , i think you guys in the US will have to google that one , but it is small lol)
so was getting ready on the Thursday , day before we were going , started to load up the evo with bits n bobs when there was a knock at the door.
it was my right front caliper arrived , within 2 days from the US, dont know how they did that but told the Mrs to unload the Evo , and i got cracking with the new right hand caliper.
all fitted like a breeze , all old fluid has now gone down to the recycling depot (cant see them reusing that old stuff)
and the EX , well , i cant explain how it feels to push the brake pedal now , lit really like a different car. it DOES stop on time , although my mind its telling me it wont , i'll have to get used to the newly Working brakes , i cant belive that they were so bad before.
still giving out credit to Shorebird , for his time
and to the guys at American Autos in Redhill , Surrey , fast , well ...i could not have got to the US and back myself in that time.
that included £13 ($20) delivery so if i was to collect them they would have come to $120 each.
not too bad in an emergency to be honest.
i was quoted about £200 ($300) just for one rear caliper before so i am thinking the rears do not come over here much.
