need a little help, please

been searching the net for a set of rear brake calipers for my 00 EX , reason is that one is sticking and the smell if getting intense at times , forgetting about the heat thats being produced driving is not fun when you have to oil your brake before setting off and can only continue with 3 working ones

but it seems that no-one (well the ones i can find) wants to ship to the UK.

i have found a few but they require me to sign up to Bongo ? or something like that so i can have a US shipping address.
i've got a US shipping address , but i'm not there so need them shipped to the UK.

does anyone know of a company who would be willing to ship to the UK , obviously i would expect to pay the extra shipping costs.

not looking for brand new , remanufactured will be ok, just need some soon as got another road trip of 5-600 miles arranged for 3 weeks time.

thanks in advance

I'd be happy to purchase them and ship to you if you're interested.. I just called autozone and they get $63 per side plus a $52 core per side... I'll call checker, napa, and pep boys if you're interested and want me to check for a better price.

Outside of that, I have no advice to help.

they work out quite cheap including the core charge

Brake Caliper-Rear by Cardone Friction Choice - Part 18-4752 - Advance Auto Parts___

Brake Caliper-Rear by Cardone Friction Choice - Part 18-4753 - Advance Auto Parts___

does anyone know if they will be alright ?

Hey UK,

I didn't check the application, but if you change photos to zoom in you see all the pins and clips and seals you need. And all should be replaced. So that helps.

Hard for you to get halfway in to the job and realize you need something small that is on another continent...

Also, the calipers aren't loaded, so don't forget new pads. Get good ones.

We don't have advance here in utah, but I think they're under the same umbrella as checker - kragen. Maybe a price match is possible.

I have an Advance Auto Parts store about a mile away from me.
Advance Auto Parts
Do you have a paypal account?
PM me and I'll see what I can do to help.
PS; I ran a estimate for UPS shipment to Nottingham( I don't know where you are) Lowest price delivered by the 2nd of March was $193.
Are you on a US military base? If so I can mail via USPS to a APO. Much less cost.

Hey ukmat, if shorebird can help you out, go that way.... I just made a couple more calls and found out that i can get the advamce auto price matched, but not their core charge. Everyone here is $50 for the core, so you're looking at an extra $40 compared to advance.

I'm happy to help, but that's a significant savings

I'd at least check the ford dealer. I get about 25% off list on purchases and they are generally about the same price. I think the quality is a lot higher though. They may not have a core charge either - making the ford dealer cheaper after all the shipping is included.

Quality would be especially important if you had to ship back and forth.

I would also be happy to order and ship these to you at no markup if that's what you need.

i have emailed my local dealer in the US (Jarret Gordon) on I-4 & highway 27 in Davenport , but they not got back to me.
I usually talk to Mike (sully he's known as i'm hoping he's still working there) on a personal email addy , but nothing as yet

to be honest if anyone can quote me a price on these (inc shipping) then i think at the moment i'd jump at the first one to come back to me , getting worried that they may not get here before i can fit them.

i'd make sure you'd get something for your help of course, tax free

my VIN is 1FMNU41S1YEC76778 if its any help to anyone

kind regards
Marcus

I'll call in the morning. I need to run to the ford dealer anyway - no compensation required.

Glad to be of help. Pay it forward Marcus. Do something for a couple of other people and if they help out a couple of people each, so on and so forth, the world will be a better place.

'pay it forward' thats a great saying , never heard of it before... I think i already do in a way , The Mrs and I are Foster carers ,we've had a good month , we had our eldest boy move onto independance last month.
been with us for 8 years , now grown into a young man , moved into a place of his own.
is a sad loss for our family but least he can look out for himself now , he knows he just need to call or knock on the door and we would still help him out.

still got 2 other foster kids at moment boy and girsl both 13 ,
along with 3 of my own and 2 adopted children in the house, room for one more yet
