Change Battery on Wireless Keypad

I bought a 2006 F150 Screw with a wireless keypad. It has a dead battery or no longer works. Can you change the battery or is it better to remove it?

If you are talking about the keypad on the driver's door to unlock the doors, it does not have a battery. Check for loose wire or broken wire in the door.

This is the kind that you can add on to a vehicle after purchase. The one on my truck no longer functions and I am trying to decide if I should go to through the hassle of changing a battery, or just remove it from the vehicle and see if I can find a door handle with the keypad in it.

Depends on what one you have, the older ones, like this one http://www.frontiernet.net/~jmray/F250KeypadBatt.htm you could, the newer ones though you cant, well you can but they were never intended to be.
