Keypad master password......
Can you change the master password/code for the keypad on the drivers door?
I have a family member that moved out and returned recently and vandalized my engine compartment. The truck is locked and he has no keys to it. So that leaves only one way to get in.

told me can not be re-set.
You would probably have to replace the security module. However....
Back in my SHO days, that model's remote security module could be opened up and the internal jumpers could be changed to change the default pass code. I've no idea if that same scheme was carried forward to the Excursion, but it might be an avenue to explore besides swapping the module to get one with a different code.

A new or used module is the only way to change the factory code. I never use the factory code, not even sure what it is without looking it up (card is in the owners manual). I did make my own code when I bought it!
No way to know what code was used to get in though.
Changing the user-programmable code is always a good idea:

...and anyone who doesn't disable that keypad should install an alarm. The instructions I listed above were found directly on the internet with a 2 minute google search. ANYONE can get in within 5 minutes on an older (2000-2001) model. Adding an alarm (in your case with an additional hood lift switch) is advised.

I called the local dealer and explained the situation. He confirmed that the module would need to be changed. It is on current eternal back order and is $300, plus 2 hours install and programming at $110 an hr. I found a used one for $100 and still looking at 2 hours install time.
Local kustom shop that does some really cool stuff is also an audio and alarm shop. $350 for an alarm installed. That is probably the way I will go.

Different dealers different results. Mine was very happy to provide me the number and show me the short cuts.
Yep, my local FORD dealer happily gave me the master code when I bought the Ex (from another user-car dealer) and took it in for it's first (for me) oil/filter change, and I also bought a new remote for it.
I got a "free" PowerStroke hat too.
