For misinformation that is.
CA emission test on older diesels does not include tailpipe probe.
Than I don't see scanner plugged on this test.
TOTAL BS.

I wonder if his insurance rate changed with the address?
I got my truck registered for this year and didn't have to go for the inspection. Suppose it is every other year. Not that I worry about it much. My truck is all stock and come with no foil from the factory.
I dunno. It's been registered to a Texas address for two years...

Im moving to cali here soon. However im fortunate to keep my Oregon registration. However the Bases require a emmisions check to recieve a base sticker. I might just take the temp passes from now on LOL because I know if they look at my intake they will flag it. However i might turn up the chip just for Chits and Giggles to see the bay fill up with soot LOL

CCV will need to be routed like stock.

One surprising detail is that air filters are exempt for diesels, so you can run anything reasonable. It is published on the DMV website.

the only thing I'm worried about is my DP tuner...if I switch to the stock program, will I have any issues?

You have to remove the tuner completely otherwise it fails the visual test. The CCV is simple. It just comes off the driverside valve cover and should enter your intake track between the turbo and airfilter.

Can't you hide the DP switch somewhere under the dash temporarily?

That sucks because I have single shot injectors.

If you hide the unit and the wire it would work. But if they find it then you fail.

Someone mentioned having the 0 position programmed for a "stock" setup for single shots rather than no start. Not sure if it would operate properly, but if you unplugged the control at the chip. Then you could have the chip installed without the wire exiting the PCM. Might ask Jody.

Send your pcm to your tuner. Have him set it as "stock" but will run your injectors.

AFE sent me a sticker with a carb number on it.(I guess thats what you call it)
I can get more...............pm me

We need to find shops that are "diesel friendly" will work with us.
Everyone seems to be guessing at this point.

The tech that refused to test my truck told me that if you do no not remove the tuner you will fail. The codes are stored and they check for codes.
