Maybe Adding to the Stable

Well I crunched some numbers the other day and I came to the realization that I could actually get by with another truck and still keep this one. But here is where it gets to the part that all y'all aren't more then likely going to hear and that is it'll probably be a 2011 v10. To my knowledge that's the only engine platform that isn't changing and plus I don't see how a gas v8 will do what I need it to do.

The only thing I don't know is if you can start to order them and if they are coming in next month like I believe the diesels are(unless I'm wrong about that, someone know for certain, I don't hang out in the other forums like I should).

I'm mentioning my plans here rather then in the superduty forum and/or the v10 forum is the last thing I need to hear is someone say to just get rid of the 6.0 and/or diesels are junk that kind of stuff. I feel safer in this group, although having talked about the addition of the v10 I may not.

More then likely I won't mod this truck other then cosmetic type stuff and audio/visual as gains aren't anywhere near astounding. I might get another DashDAQ for that truck exclusively or a set of analog gauges when the pods are out for it, but that'll more then likely be it.

Hopefully y'all don't feel too betrayed. But between the 6.0 just about being two generations behind technology and the fact that the new truck bug is irritating me this is about the only way I can have my cake and eat it to without feeling "buyer's regret" to much.

The 2011 V10's would be a good choice. Glad Ford decided to keep that engine for awhile longer. As long as you keep your 6-0, we won't give ya a hard time ....

They have been ordering them for a while now, so that will not be a issue. Production is currently set to begin on Monday (fingers crossed) and they will be producing both diesel and gas...

You going for a F-450 or F-550?

Oh crap, are those the only two options? I may not be getting one then. Those would be more of a headache then I need.

Yea, sorry to be the bearer of bad news to your analysis. The V10 is exclusive to the F-450/550 Chassis Cabs for '11 and the highest trim level available is XLT. Lariat forces the 6.7L...

Man,I don't get how ford figures out what we want in a truck.I am but a lowly bricklayer but it seems to me that if someone is waving $50k in front of you it is the smart thing to give them a truck the way they want it with in reason.I will have a hard time having to have an auto in my next work truck, next they will tell me that I can"t get a rubber floor in a crew cab or something along those lines.Tex that truck of yours is a beauty why you want a new one anyway?

I honestly can't give you a reason, or atleast a reason that makes much logical sense.

The new 6.2 V8 is no slouch either though...

Don't short the V8 I towed a 10,000 lbs travel trailer (dry) with my 04 5.4 Ex...

Just saying.

It would need to be able to handle ~16k.

I have owned a 2002 5.4 in a f350 work truck,that motor does not hold a candle to a 6.0L.

What you think this is, Burger King? Honestly it really all comes down to economics vs demand. The more trucks they can build that are similar, the cheaper manufacturing becomes...

Rubber floor, oh boy... Well rubber floor is standard on the XL. Carpet delete is available on the XLT, but is a fleet only option and you have to have a FIN (Fleet Identification Number).
