I am clearly no expert on ABS system, but I can tell you what happened to me....
Had my truck to the mechanic for new rotors and a full change of brake fluid. (sorry guys-I put rotors on my 88 gasser and it wasn't too tough a job at all-I needed new ones to pass inspection and I don't have a garage. I am far past the age where I am willing to work in the driveway, in the dark, in the winter :-) )
Anyway, I took the truck home and the ABS light came on. I drove it the next day thinking maybe it needed a couple of miles under the wheels to reset a sensor or something, but it stayed on.
Turned out the sensor connection to the brake fluid tank had been knocked off. Reconnecting it made the problem go away.
So, maybe it is something that simple........
